How is Co-Scheduling different from Therapy and Coaching?
Therapy
Provided by clinically-trained psychotherapists.
- For clients who want to improve their mental health.
- Assumes that thoughts, emotions and behaviours are shaped by past experiences and current coping skills.
- Identifies psychological patterns, educates coping strategies, facilitates emotional processing, and diagnose and treat mental health needs.
Co-Scheduling
- For clients who want to make sustainable behavior change.
- Assumes that the client is missing some info that is influencing the behavior.
- Identifies knowledge gap in clients, patch that gap, identifies systemic root cause, and personalizes strategies to adapt their systems that influence that behavior.
Coaching
- For clients who want to clarify direction and achieve goals.
- Assumes that the client already has the answers but are held back by internal factors.
- Through mirroring and questions, facilitate clients to identify their obstacles, provides a fresh perspective, organize their plans, and trigger growth.
Do I need to choose between Co-Scheduling or Coaching now?
No. You don’t need to decide in advance. Book a free call to discuss what you would like to work on. We can explore what may fit, including Coaching, Co-Scheduling, or a combination of approaches, and adjust along the way based on what works for you.
How are your services backed by scientific resources?
Our services are based on multiple fields, including engineering, system thinking, behavioral science, and project planning. We use information from trusted sources, such as research articles, academic conferences, and respected books. Our researcher(s), trained in interdisciplinary studies, integrate this diverse knowledge into strategies that are both scientifically backed and practical for everyday life.
Are your services about mindfulness practices?
While our services include elements of mindfulness, such as being aware of your emotional states and staying present in your day, the main focus is on problem-solving. Your Scheduler might suggest mindfulness techniques as part of the solution to a specific problem. Other solutions might involve changing your physical environment, adjusting your routine, or learning time management skills. The best approach depends entirely on your individual situation.
What if I like solving problems on my own?
Our service is a collaborative problem-solving process designed to support even the most self-driven individuals. With our guidance, you’ll gain access to valuable knowledge and tailored suggestions, reducing the mental strain of having to brainstorm, track, and manage everything on your own.
We will help you with a clear roadmap and progress tracking, so you can focus on refining your strategies and making informed decisions without the overwhelming mental load. Even if you prefer to take the lead, the program ensures you’re supported with insights and expertise to make the journey smoother and more effective.
In Co-Scheduling approach, do I need to log my schedule every day?
Not necessarily. It depends on your goal and what we are trying to understand. While more data can provide deeper insights, even three days may sometimes be enough to reveal useful patterns.
Depending on what we are exploring, logging may be more structured or take the form of reflections and free-form journaling. For structured logging, our Journii App is designed to make the process quick and simple.
We will decide together what information is useful and how best to capture it. The process will be introduced gradually so that logging supports the work without becoming overwhelming.
What if I struggle to sustain schedule logging?
So far, every client I’ve worked with has found schedule logging challenging at some point, especially at the beginning. If you struggle with it too, that is something we can work with.
Schedule logging is not about forcing yourself through sheer willpower. Difficulty sustaining it can itself reveal useful patterns about what creates friction, what feels manageable, and what may need to change.
We will adapt the logging process to your needs. This may involve structured logging, reflections, or other approaches, introduced gradually so that the process does not become overwhelming. For structured logging, even around three days of data between weekly or biweekly sessions may already provide useful insights.
If logging continues to feel difficult, we can explore why, experiment with different approaches, and decide together what works best for you.
How can I overcome the inertia to log my data?
Acknowledge the effort involved.
Even brief logging takes time and attention. Recognising that effort can help us design a process that feels more manageable.
Reduce the friction.
We can experiment with when, how, and how much you log, including simplifying the format or using tools such as Journii where appropriate.
Reconnect with the purpose.
Knowing what we are trying to learn from the data can make logging feel more meaningful rather than like another task to complete.
Why can’t I find your Journii app in app stores?
Our Journii app is still in development and operates with minimal costs. We release weekly updates and bug fixes to improve its functionality. For Android users, we provide an APK file with updates and personalized takeaways from program sessions. For iOS users, you can request for the TestFlight link to install our app.
If you prefer not to install our app, we provide a Google Sheet document as an alternative for schedule logging.
Why are there no unsuccessful stories?
Not every engagement reaches completion. Dropouts do happen, and they are an important source of learning for both clients and us. The programme relies on collaboration, including:
Accurate schedule logging
The information does not need to be perfect, but it needs to reflect your experience as accurately as possible for us to identify useful patterns.
Openness to experimentation
Some strategies may initially feel unfamiliar or counterintuitive. Being willing to explore and test different possibilities gives us more opportunities to discover what may fit.
Active engagement in the process
Reflection, discussion, and experimentation all contribute to what we can learn and adapt together.
People may discontinue for many reasons, including health, travel, changing circumstances, difficulty sustaining logging, or finding that the process is not a good fit at that time. These experiences also help us improve the programme.
On the contrary, unsuccessful completion refers to someone who completes the programme but makes no meaningful progress towards their goal. So far, we have not encountered such a case.
In our experience, progress can also be cumulative rather than immediate, with the effects of earlier sessions becoming more apparent after several sessions. This is one reason we encourage clients to give the process sufficient time before deciding whether it is useful for them.
Are the services incomplete or experimental?
No. The services have completed their alpha and beta phases. During those phases, they were offered at low or no cost so that the focus could remain on refining the programmes through real client experience and feedback rather than revenue.
The services are now offered at their prevailing rates, while continuing to evolve through experience and feedback.
Voluntary contributions through PayNow or Buy Me a Coffee are also appreciated. These contributions help us provide more free resources and pro-bono services to improve accessibility.
